The M-51 “Super Sherman”

 The M-51 is arguably the finest example of enhancing an item far beyond its original specifications to satisfy new demands. The Shermans' outstanding and versatile design is also a great illustration of this process. More than 20 years after the initial Shermans were produced, Israel converted around 180 of their own to carry a large 105 mm cannon.
